The Hospitality Management curriculum combines specialty classes in hospitality management and business management coursework.The Hospitality Management program at Kent State University is one of only two programs in the state of Ohio to be accredited by the Accreditations Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA). This underscores the high quality of the program.

The third annual Hospitality Management Friends and Family dinner and silent auction will take place on Friday, December 11, at the Kent State Student Center Ballroom. The event will be jointly hosted by the Kent State University Chapters of Club Managers Association of America and Professional Convention Management Association.
schwebel guest lecture - april 1, 2009
Marcus Samuelsson, acclaimed chef and co-owner of Restaurant Aquavit in New York City, was the featured 2009 Schwebel Guest Speaker. Chef Samuelsson was the youngest chef ever to receive a three-star restaurant review from The New York Times and was also honored as the "Rising Star Chef" by the James Beard Foundation. He is an author and has been featured on several prominent television programs including Food TV's The Iron Chef America, ABC's Good Morning America, Martha Stewart Living, and Night Line. The lecture will be held at the KIVA in the Kent State University Student Center.

The program enjoys close working relationships with an active industry advisory board and other industry supporters. Hospitality industry leaders support the program through scholarships, guest lectures in the classroom, internships, and job placement. Students have the opportunity to be involved in organizations and clubs such as Kent State University's chapter of Club Managers Association of America and Professional Convention Management Association, and the Ice Carving Club to enhance classroom and lab educational experiences.
